Color Field Meditations
Each grid is first drawn in charcoal, in black and white, reminiscent of a lead sheet: the structure of the song. Color is the improvisation that plays over the pre-composed form, exploding off in drips but always finding its way back. I continue reworking the surface until no single voice is too loud and the voices sing together.
