Orbital Meditations
Each painting starts as a composition in charcoal and broad masses of desaturated color on top of a textured ground. Then, the surface is built mark by mark. I think of the field as a whole, a rhythm the marks keep together. The drips and splashes serve as a record of the moments the painting is made of.
